Privacy Policy for GEM AI

1. Information We Collect

GEM AI is designed to minimize data collection.

We may process the following:

• Photos you submit: Images selected from your gallery or captured via camera are sent to our AI processing servers to perform the requested editing feature (background removal, object removal, face swap, etc.). Images are processed and returned to you — we do not retain your photos after processing is complete.

• Device/app data (non-personal): Basic technical data required for app functionality, including crash logs and error reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics.

• Push notification token: A device token generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications.

• Permissions-related data: Whether you grant camera, photos, or notification permissions (stored locally on your device).

• Local app data on your device: Profile display name, email, selected language, theme preference, and processed image gallery metadata.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information beyond what is described above.

2. How We Use Information

We use information only to provide core app features, including:

• Processing your photos with AI (background remover, object remover, face swap, face enhancer, eye color/lens changer, background changer, character face swap),

• Displaying processed results and saving them to your gallery,

• Sending app notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging,

• Reporting crashes and errors to improve app stability,

• Showing the app in your selected language,

• Saving your profile information and gallery history locally.

3. Data Storage

Profile information (display name, email, profile photo), language preference, theme, and processed gallery metadata are stored locally on your device only.
Photos submitted for AI processing are transmitted to our servers at our AI processing server and are not retained after processing.
We do not sell your personal data.

4. Permissions

GEM AI may request the following permissions:

• Camera (Android & iOS): To capture photos for AI editing features.

• Photos / Media / Storage (Android & iOS): To select photos for editing and to save processed results to your gallery.

• Notifications (Android 13+, iOS): For optional app notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features may not work without required permissions.

5. Third-Party Services

GEM AI uses the following third-party services which may process technical data according to their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Crashlytics (crash reporting), Cloud Messaging (push notifications), Remote Config, and Analytics.

• AI APIs: Cloud-based AI processing services for all photo editing features.

• Google Play Services: Used for Advertising ID on Android.

6. Children's Privacy

GEM AI is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect app data, including encrypted API communication (HTTPS) for all server requests. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights regarding your personal data. Since most app data is stored locally, you can clear app data or uninstall the app to remove local data at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a new effective date.
